First Race In The Bank

Well we made it through our first race! It was an awesome day for the #00 Aarons Dream Machine. It took me a little bit to get going but my team made awesome changes all day and we were fast when we needed to be. If it wasn't for a late race flat we probably would have ran in the top 20. Making my Nextel Cup debut was really special and it was great having my family there. There are tons of people that have made this all possible and I am extremely greateful for the oppurtunity and everyone who has been apart of this 20 year journey. That's right I started racing at age 3. I hope you will all contiune to blog. I do read all the notes; though I can't always respond, I enjoy seeing all the encouragement. Off to Texas!

Thanks

Michael McDowell

You did great in Martinsville. I am so proud of you despite what some cry babies had to say. You proved you belong there. Just stay safe! Can't wait to see you at home. Love you!

Great job in Martinsville bro! What a hard track to make your debut on and you did a very good job finishing ahead of some of the cup veterans and young guns. Even Kyle Busch couldnt hang hehe. As for Burton well it seems like he's got the Harvick Whiney bug lol! I can understand he wanted to challenge for the win but i guess he forgot that your job is to race for position and finish good so you can stay in top 35. There is no freebies in cup. If you were 100 laps down then i can understand. And its short track racing too what did he expect? You would of lost more positions if you would of pulled over. Maybe i'm wrong. But you got my attention as a new fan and Waltrip did a great job picking a future cup star like you to drive for him. Good luck in Texas bro!

Just wanted to wish you all the best in your racing career. And from what I've been reading online from jayski.com and google weblinks. You're the real deal!

Good luck!

By the way, when you were karting/road racing did you have dreams of being in F1 vs NASCAR, IndyCar or sports car racing in general? If the NASCAR schedule wasn't too hectic, I could see several drivers attempting to race at LeMans.

I've watched a lot of your races but never before have I been so keyed up and tense. It was a blast! We're building a little McDizzle fan base here in DC. Can't wait for the Richmond race. Tear them up in on super speedway Mike. We'll be in Charlotte next weekend and hope to connect then. Let us know through the blog when and where we can start buying 00 merchandise. I'm ready to look redneck.

What a debut! It was a great race and so much fun to see you in it. Like Louie, I disagreed with Burton's comments and thought you did the right thing by not trying to go a lap down. In Martinsville, it's none too easy to move over for just one car. Watching Burton on Trackside last night, it appears you charmed him the next day with your phone call. I dig how you're extremely likable AND extremely competitive. ;)

Hey great job in Martinsville! It's always great to see someone out there who is willing to race hard and not give up no matter what the situation. Also glad you're okay after the horrifying wreck. You got another North Carolina fan here! Good luck bro.
